2016 Temporary Licenses

Please find below further information pertaining to the 2016 Temporary Licenses.

 

General

  •          From 2016 onwards the temporary licence system will form part of the ASA licence bib sponsorship.
  •          Only single licence bibs will be printed.

 

Temporary Licence Insurance

  •          ASA’s athlete insurance scheme will be expanded to include holders of temporary licenses.
  •          Athletes will only be covered for the duration of the race/meeting and not if injured in an accident during normal training.
  •          To be covered by the insurance scheme, athletes must complete and sign the tear-off strip and the event organiser must collect all tear-off strips before the start of the race/meeting.
  •          All tear-off strips from a race/meeting must be sealed in an envelope and must be kept by the provincial office for a period of 12 months.
  •          The temporary licence, and therefore the insurance cover, will only be valid for one race/meeting.
  •          Any insurance claim on a temporary licence must be registered with ASA within 14 days of the event.

 

PLEASE NOTE

On a monthly basis the WPA Office is required to submit a detailed reconciliation of the temporary licenses sold during the month, per event, to the ASA Office. We kindly request and urge clubs to sell the temporary licenses in sequence.
