In the current competitive work environment, it is becoming increasingly difficult to stand out and to remain relevant in your chosen field. We are constantly under pressure to expand our skill set and service offering, yet people say: “I don’t have the time to engage in formal learning”.
With this in mind, and considering that a governing principle of the Sports Science Institute of South Africa (SSISA) is “to provide internationally recognised sports science services, programmes, teaching and research”, we are excited to announce the launch of SSISA Connect, an online learning platform.
SSISA Connect aims to bring learning to people instead of people to learning; create an engaging learning experience; integrate technology seamlessly into the curriculum instead of viewing it as an add-on as well as design courses around what the learners need to do with their newly-found information after the course is finished.
Therefore – in short, our online short courses will:
Bridge the gap in knowledge and skills;
Ensure the latest, cutting edge information;
Improve credibility and employability.
SSISA is a Sector Education Training Authority (SETA) accredited training provider- therefore all learners who meet the course requirements will be certificated and if relevant, will receive SAQA credits and CPD points.
On 16 September 2015 the first of three courses will be launched. The topics are diverse to service a wide variety of learners. Both the “Nutrition” and the “Life Skills” courses are twelve weeks in duration and are credit-bearing. “Strength and Conditioning” is a 4 hour video-based course.
