Date: 19 October 2013
Food provides us with the energy we need to fuel all our daily activities, but for athletes it also needs to provide the energy to optimize their training, perform at their best, and repeatedly recover whilst remaining free from injury and illness.
The workshop will serve as an information session which provides nutritional guidelines for both the athlete and coach, including food (carbohydrates, fibre, proteins, fats) and fluid intake during, and after, training and competition, the nutrients required, use of supplements, or not, identifying problem areas such as eating disorders and much more. It will be a practical workshop with interactive case studies.
