Race organisers have announced that a special MyCiti shuttle service will operate on Sunday 23 September to ferry runners to the start of the Cape Town Marathon and 10km races.
The shuttle service will run between Stadium Station in Green Point and Thibault Square Station every 3 minutes between 05:15 and 06:15 on race day. Marshalls at Thibault Square Station will direct runners to the race start in Adderley Street.

Tickets for the shuttle service are available for purchase from registration at the Sea Point Civic Centre on Friday 21 September between 10am and 7pm; and on Saturday 22 September between 10am and 5pm, at R5 per ticket.

Only those runners who have purchased a Cape Town Marathon IRT shuttle ticket will be able to use the service. Access will only be allowed on presentation of the Cape Town Marathon IRT ticket.

No shuttle service will be provided after the event. Runners must use a myconnect card if they wish to use the Inner City service outside the above hour. Information on myconnect cards and Retailers selling cards and loading value is available on the MyCiTi website (http://www.capetown.gov.za/en/MyCiti/Pages/default.aspx), or cards can be purchased and value loaded at any open MyCiTi Kiosk (also see website for operational hours, etc.)

The races form part of the City of Cape Town’s Heritage Day festivities and runners of all fitness levels are encouraged to experience the fast, flat scenic route, which celebrates the beauty and history of the Mother City.

Registration and number collection is at the Sea Point Civic Centre on Friday 21 September between 10am and 7pm and on Saturday 22 September between 10am and 5pm. Pre-entries close on September 10 and can be done online or by downloading the entry form from www.ctmarathon.co.za.

The marathon festival weekend also includes a 5km Fun Run and a 5-x 4.2km relay for clubs, companies and schools on Saturday 22 September. The events, supported by the City of Cape Town, Cape Town Tourism, Western Cape Government, Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport, and Peninsula Beverages, provide a wonderful opportunity for competitors to get involved in a big city event while promoting a healthy, active, outdoor lifestyle.
